Abigail Thorn's latest essay is the worst essay from a trans person I have ever read. It is harmful to the trans community and especially the ballroom community that she is not part of but has decided to attack and not listen to.

Please listen to people from the ballroom community instead of her.

Yeah but after season four there's the surgery recovery arc and popularity really drops off there. Only the true fans and some fans who act like haters but swear they're the biggest fans and do the most for the community stay around then to watch and support

There's another half baked point in my mind about acting like they were part of the work that we do to transition without of course being part of it but being very keen to take pride in it. Like fandoms think somehow being a fan of something made it the great thing it is and get rewards.

Well now you've made me realise they behave in a lot of ways like a fandom. With treating transsexuals like the media/celebrities of a fandom; demanding perfection, parasocial relationships towards transition, fanfiction they write about us and expect us to match etc

I woke after this when she'd fallen back asleep and found her phone charger cable(still plugged in)wrapped around her. She is a chronic "rolling up in the duvet to steal it from me" but rolling up in a phone charged cable is new. I somehow untangled her without waking her up or unplugging the phone

Recently I made the mistake of explaining to someone that the issue they were worried about was already dealt with a while back. The response was not cheer it was dragging everyone down to an increasing level of thinking there's nothing anyone can do. Despite me just showing we can do and can win

This is a big part of why I've increasingly become absent from trans specific spaces. My time and energy is far better spent not getting bogged down and drained by people whose defeatism is their main contribution to discussion and people asking for help or even just sharing news on real projects.

The biggest user of resources in spaces fighting for trans rights and quality of life is trans people who are defeatist energy vampires.

Genuinely I believe this. My time and energy has been used up by those people more than actual transphobes and part of my job is trans healthcare.

From what I can find online the gallery for the court looks like this. If I've got the right photo then even if the laughter is silent there's still the fact that the victim can see the horrible people laughing at her. Which personally I'd feel awful about
