There has been a 'Category A' serious nuclear incident at Falsane naval base in Scotland, the home to Britain's nuclear submarine fleet. Australia can't afford - financially or environmentally - to host US nuclear submarines through AUKUS. Quit AUKUS now.

Incoming chief of US Navy operations says US nuke sub produciton “isn’t where it needs to be to make good on the AUKUS agreement”.

It’s either a shake down for more cash, or a US push to keep control of rotating subs

Either way, it’s time to sink AUKUS

AUKUS was already a price too much to pay - politically and economically.

With Trump likely to put up cost and say the quiet part out loud insisting the subs form part of any war with China then @albomp.bsky.social has to dump AUKUS.

No guarantees from US Secretary of State AUKUS will proceed. But we can't afford to wait for AUKUS to fail (this year, next year, in 10 years). We need to change course and insist on an independent, anti-militarist, non-nuclear foreign and defence policy.

Fantastic to see the Electrical Trades Union in QLD & NT calling for the Australian government to withdraw from AUKUS. The ACTU and the labour movement must get behind the campaign against militarism, for decent jobs that are for peace, not war.
