I was supposed to depart at 20:57 in Offenburg, I was ready to depart on time, but for whatever reason they let the 21:02 train depart first and I had to go behind it. I asked why, nobody gave me a reason, but at least they apologized.
Phew, been catching up delay again 🥵 Unfortunately I was only able to skip 2 of the 5 on demand stops on this route, otherwise I would have gotten it down to 0 ^^ Reason for the delay was, big surprise, that was sarcastic, a dispatching fuckup by the signalman of DB in Offenburg.
Catching the last bits of sunlight before heading into my free weekend :3
It’s been almost three weeks of driving Offenburg - Strasbourg only, now I’m back to drive other routes and electric again in Germany for the next few days ^^
At the moment rumors say February 2026. I have the training for them by the end of this month.

In Kehl I needed police to block the doors and prevent people from blocking them because they were still trying to squeeze in since I was the last train for the next 90 minutes. People even tried to push the policemen away, crazy scenes, insane…
Holiday in Germany, no holiday in France, seems like all the people from here were going to Strasbourg today… Just had a train from Strasbourg to Offenburg where I:

- Left 20 people and 5 cyclists behind in Strasbourg
- 40 people and 10 cyclist in Kehl
- 1 cyclist in Kork

And on the way home, just near my house, a drunk guy was running around in the middle of the street, stopping cars and then yelling at them. I slalomed around him, and he just yelled after me 😂

Only weird people around again tonight...
-

Me: Hey, I'll leave him with you now, I have to park the train now...

Service the got his phone out and left with him, but he wasn't loaded onto the EuroNight. Dunno what they did xD

Just wtf…
-

Service: You can't get to Friedrichshafen from here anymore tonight! Are you sure he said Leipzig!?

Me: Yes, three times, and that can't be misunderstood or mispronounced, they're two completely different words!

Service: Yeah, great...

-
-

Me: You wanted to go to Leipzig! You said that three times!

He: No, I want Friedrichshafen!

Service: Is he serious? I just registered him with EuroNight, just spoke to them on the phone, that's fine...

He: I want Friedrichshafen!

-
They took care of it. Service came. I put down the ramp, pushed him out. Service was just about to take him over, and then:

He: Yeah and now where's the train to Friedrichshafen!?

Me: Wait, wha wha what!?

He: Yes, where's the train to Friedrichshafen!?

-
- That's where he wants to go. They need the station lift anyway, otherwise he wouldn't be able to get in, and they'd have to check if they even have a free space for a wheelchair.“ Yes, they'll take care of it.

So I arrived in Offenburg at 10:21 p.m., even a minute early. -
- „Look, there's someone here with a wheelchair, a regular push wheelchair, not an electric wheelchair. Make sure the service comes to me at 10:22 PM in Offenburg and takes him from me and takes him to the NightJet / EuroNight which leaves for Leipzig at 10:31 PM. -
-

Me: Yes, I'll call Offenburg and make sure you're picked up and taken to the train to Leipzig.

So it was immediately clear to me that he probably wasn't registered with the long-distance train service either. So I got him inside the train and called my dispatcher and said -
-

He: Yes, I want Leipzig!

Me: Yes, I'll get the ramp now, get you on the train, and you'll come with me to Offenburg. Are you registered for Leipzig?

He: Registered for what? I'm going to Leipzig, right?

-
- needs help and can't get on the train! Okay, I'm not aware of a registered wheelchair, but it doesn't matter, they don't have to register. I go to him:

He: Going to Offenburg!?

Me: Yes.

He: Then Leipzig!?

Me: Oh, slow down, first with me to Offenburg, then change.

Just before the end of my shift...

I'm standing on platform 25 in Strasbourg, just arrived, getting the driver's cabs ready for parking in Offenburg, was the last train of my service, when two girls come up to me and say there's someone on the platform in a wheelchair who -
They will launch in February, at least that is the current state and rumors I have ^^ I will have my training for the new trains in the last week of October and first week of November
First train of my service from Offenburg to Strasbourg was just surprisingly full, although, it’s Friday… Completely overcrowded, left 6 passengers and 3 cyclists behind in Offenburg and 4 passengers in Appenweier. But I don’t expect any other trains that full today.
How I repair broken things on my train 👍🏻👌🏻
Ugh… My trains got quite messed up again today due to persons on the tracks which caused a route closure x.x Finally back on time now though ~
First round of my service was chaotic today, persons on the track between Kehl and Strasbourg caused my first train to Strasbourg to get cancelled at Kehl, sent people to the tram and then there was a signaling malfunction which caused my next train to be delayed 😵‍💫 But now everything works again 😌
They never caused problems, unless someone doesn’t have valid documents with them or there is a search and arrest warrant on someone. They still happen, but don’t really cause any big delays or none at all, as long as everyone got their valid travel documents with them and is clear, depends on that.
But you can really feel that the summer vacation season has come to an end and that summer is ending. Definitely less passengers around. Trains are currently definitely not overcrowded, not letting any passengers behind. Things are getting „normal“ again.
