Do we know what resources have gone into our yarn and who is on the other end? Do we really understand the wool supply chain both in Canada and globally?
Topic: The feeling and smell of a brand new skein of yarn is magical, the way it feels in your hands and on your needles, the beautiful shawl or sweater it will become. But how often do we consider the people that have had a hand in creating our yarn before it is ours.

Angela was excited to attend the @kwknittersguild.bsky.social K-W Knitters’ Fair today. She had me drop her off half an hour before it opened. When picked her up five hours later, she asked me to drive her over to the @galthouseofyarn.bsky.social!

Next meeting: October 14 - mark your calendars! Our speaker will be Anna Hunter of Long Way Homestead and author of The True Cost of Wool.
Highlights from Sarah's presentation: There are many ways to play–collector, competitor, explorer, storyteller-and all can be expressed through crafting. Gnomes are never about "should". You make them because you want to. Making gnomes is quick, and each individual piece gives you a hit of dopamine.
What an amazing evening! 🌟

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our monthly meeting, and a huge thanks to Sarah of Imagined Landscapes for sharing her incredible knowledge on Knitting with Joy, exploring the importance of play in adulthood featuring gnomes.

We only just learned about this, we can't do anything about it, and we don't receive any of those fees, but we want to be transparent about the pricing you can expect.
There is an additional facility fee which has been added to the ticket price, so when you look at the listing, the tickets show up as $10.50. And then there's an extra $1.00 fee per order (regardless of how many tickets).
The not-so-great news: We set our ticket prices at $8.00, which covers our operating costs, but the ticket fee structure has changed without notice.
#KWKnittersFair tickets are available now!

The good news: You can now purchase your tickets online or at the Aud's box office in person. kwtickets.evenue.net/events/KNIT
