Got to see my favorite man children last night. Tom Cruise eat your heart out, Matt Johnson is the real Mr. Movies. Jay McCarrol, a true multitalented force. Together they are NIRVANNA THE BAND.

[Hacks up a lung trying to discreetly say FUCKTOYS, the best movie of the year]
Feel like we are going to see a continuing trend where the best queer films in any given calendar year are going to be undistributed and primarily independent from the distribution models that are going to exist in the future.

Suggested putting on Ice Storm for Thanksgiving to my boyfriend. About five second before [REDACTED] gets [REDACTED] I said that something crazy was bound to happen with all the building tension. Also Christina Ricci wears a Nixon mask and stands like an NPC.

Formally rescinding my Top Ten of 2022 award, but I still offer a light defense of a movie that’s neither the best thing ever made but also nowhere close to the worst cinema has offered. (3 stars no heart)
Happy Thanksgiving! We’re joined by @moodles.bsky.social to discuss Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All at Once, a movie you needed to enjoy before Film Twitter told you not to.

Assuming it’s safe to say here without potentially getting killed but there has to be some director mandated eating disorder for the female leads of Wicked right?

Train Dreams isn’t the Nick Mullen biopic and therefore I have no vested interest in either the movie or the Discourse around it.

Update: thought about the final shot in the shower earlier and started crying.
Missed If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You at IFFBoston (skipped because I was super burnt out that week). My boyfriend called me after seeing it saying I shouldn’t watch it by myself, or at least wait until I could watch it at home, like he was terrified of leaving me with a sharp object.

He was right.

Please don’t be upset that we don’t think this is the greatest movie ever made, but I’ll be playing mediator (i.e. going back to the old me).
Next week, watch it and have fun before Film Twitter tells you it’s overrated, targets your location, and sends a SWAT team to your house for believing in the power of radical optimism and small business ownership.

Making good on my promise to David Lynch up in heaven to not let Dune be the only movie of his we do on the pod.
Meow, meow, it’s a new edition of Nicole on Cole (Netscape) on David Lynch’s Lost Highway, a cursed object of a film about a guy who’s so misogynistic he gives himself a splitting headache. www.patreon.com/posts/144016...

Four more this morning and I have no idea what they’re getting out of me, a staunch Marxist feminist, specifically.
What’s with all the quasi-spam boomer lib accounts on here mass following and replying to literally everyone? I’ve had to block half a dozen this week.

I am claiming a neutral-positive position on EEAAO ahead of next week’s episode. Hsu and her amazing outfits were robbed.
