Pls 🔁 scans to spread J-PC magic✨

Much fun has been had about the high lewd to in-game pic ratio in the game covers I've been scanning. While hilarious, in the world of #PC98, this doesn't mean the games are bad, or an afterthought.🧵 I think the higher-ups / marketing guys just had a "firm" stance on which "assets" to promote 😹

If you have nostalgia for gaming in the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 00s, whether it’s for console, arcade, or PC, check out Gaming Alexandria! Our focus for the past 10 years has been preserving mostly Japanese media creating a treasure trove of games, game dev, advertising and artwork.
Hard to believe it's already been ten years that Gaming Alexandria has been around. Here's a (late) article about our history, as well as special thanks and small blurbs from others of what Gaming Alexandria has meant to them. Here's to another ten years! www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2025/11/g...

Latest pickups from Japan to scan etc. First up is a bunch of boxed games, including the arguably rarest Super Cassette Vision game Pole Position II! And another undumped Gundam RX78 cart. Not many left of these to preserve thankfully. (1/3)

1982 was very early for Japanese adventure games, with only a small number of releases. Takara Building Adventure thus is one of the earliest adventure games in Japanese, but it was not generally available...

...until today.

Includes some unexpected history!

Takara Building Adventure Part 1 (1982)
The last time I wrote about a Japanese game was with The Palms, where I mentioned skipping over two games from 1982 because there were no copies available. This was one of them. Brief history recap…

Two of my educational game dumps for #PC98 just got cracked, thanks to the wizardry of Alpharobo! 🕺 This means they're now both playable using emulators, in addition to real hardware. If you run into issues later on in the game(s), do let us know! ✨ bsky.app/profile/krug...

I forgot to post up my VCFMW table setup yesterday. There were so many lovely folks to chat with and share my love of these systems with.

The lead-up work for conventions is so stressful, but seeing so many folks connect with systems from Japan makes it all worthwhile.
