In a lot of sci-fi, the humans are the ones to create a kind of United Nations. Which at some point includes a bellicose species (Klingons, Narns, Moclans). Given our behavior, I think we are getting it backwards.

It appears we are on the verge of legalizing child abuse. I mean, it's not like we really ever outlawed it. At the same time we are abolishing limits on professional speech. At which point I am a lawyer, doctor, and financial advisor. Fuck the court that tries to say otherwise.

Sure, but in the meantime, it's wholly rational to trust the existing science. And then change the law should the understanding change (in this case it won't—conversion therapy is psychological torture).

What garbage "both sides" article. On one side: the existing evidence uniformly demonstrates that conversion therapy has no benefit and actively causes harm. On the other: yeah, well sometimes our understanding of the evidence evolves.

Based on what I understand, she did not commit to the continuing resolutions being free of anti-trans measures. There was a qualifier in place. I cannot verify becasue I need to avoid her accounts for my mental health. Look for phrases like "the CR *might* be clean."
