There's plenty wrong with England, BUT at least our elected representatives are acting on behalf of the people, regardless of the gov't or Prime Minister's position. Unlike our US counterparts, over here nonces aren't tolerated. Period.

You know what I hate the most? The fact that the general strike didn't start yesterday.
I don't think it sounds trite at all. It's probably the most commonly held but infrequently articulated "feeling" in the human race. Who, after all, wants to admit to their own lack of self-esteem? Well done for saying it. The more people who follow your lead, the better.
The English language can be challenging for immigrants, with the same word often having many different meanings. To help our vital and welcome immigrant communities bed in, I've created this handy guide...
This. Not a spending strike. The time for half measures has long gone. Build on No Kings now, immediately. General strike. Grind the nation to a halt and change will swiftly follow. You CANNOT defeat fascism without being prepared to take risks and suffer. If you won't accept that, you're complicit.
Honestly? We in the west need to change the narrative around terminal illness and learn how to die with grace. An octogenarian who's lead a wonderful life with, now, an incurable cancer (fundamentally a disease of ageing) is not a reason for sadness but celebration. Thank you for everything, Joe.
To be more exact, it's actually your seven year old first cousin. But never mind.
Thanks a fucking lot for putting a vivid image of Donold's dripping arsehole in my mind. I'm struggling mightily to unsee it.
What I take from this is that someone shot the wrong asshole.
I think it's rather apt. Destroying the White House stands as a metaphor for destroying the nation while Americans stand by and decline to take the sort of difficult actions necessary to protect their country and constitution in favour of pretending that a protest will be enough.

Tip: it won't be.
The aircraft carrier is turning at last. Ten years later and we're finally openly admitting it was a colossal fuck up. Another decade and who knows, we might even do the obviously sensible thing and rejoin.
Y'all are going to wake up tomorrow morning to a President who literally pictures himself shitting all over you and he'll still be President nine hours later when you go to bed? Really? You're willing to accept this? Did I miss the bit where you lot were neutered?
Well, he was always going to look for a country that had a monarchy 😂😂😂
Does anyone have George Soros' address? I need to send my invoice.
"A low-rated and very unpopular leader", says Trump.

Oh, the irony. Oh, the lack of self-awareness.
Used to?

Serious question: What makes you think he isn't still doing it now? Very few paedophiles, if any, suddenly stop being paedophiles, and he now has the entire apparatus of a corrupt state at his disposal to enable his behaviour.
I know that facial expression well. After a lamb vindaloo with a side of lentil dahl washed down by a couple of pints of Guinness, then finding no bathroom in sight, it's unavoidable.
Republicans don't use restrooms. They just head to the Oval office. Haven't you heard, their boss is partial to a golden shower?
Yesterday was great. But...

It's critical that it wasn't an isolated day of protest. You've probably got their attention now so you have to double down and keep opposition at fever pitch today, tomorrow, and the next.

The fascist boat has been rocked. Now, a tidal wave is needed to wash it away.
Hasn't pretty much every President in the history of the world, ever, expressed ideals that transcended party? Trump is an outlier, and that's yet another way you know he's a fascist.
I think that's a very fair point, and likely there have been times when I, too, have turned the other cheek rather than confront an abuser. Admitting that isn't a nice feeling, or pleasant to live with. I agree it's on us (men) to up our game and be active beyond ourselves in changing things.
There was a banner yesterday, "Empty is the head that wears the crown". True.

But learn from France, guys. "Off with the head that wears the crown". Isn't treason a capital offence?
I agree totally with your broader point that abusive male behaviour is FAR too common (and far too easily accepted) but nevertheless, the majority of men are not abusers. Society needs to get its house in order in terms of how it responds to and insufficiently deals with abusive men.
