I wrote this a few years ago. In this article, I distinguish between a morality that comes “down from above” (*either a deity or an autocratic leader) and an agreed-upon ethical system

I can see so clearly now how the theology of fear is a constant retraumatization of humanity. That retraumatization becomes the power tool of the cults we buy into.

So when I see MAGA people starting to wake up, I know that wise compassion is the only response that is appropriate.

The fact that Core Self space, which includes compassion, is so healing to our parts is like the worlds best magic.

But having spent SO long in the evangelical church where much of the theology is about "battles" and "war" my trauma became more and more buried. To fester.

When I think of how gentle and compassionate I need to be with my own parts, I'm reminded that is how I need to be with others.

As someone with a high ACE score who has worked through a lot of my trauma (let's be real tho....its a constant process), that understanding was so foreign to me.
