I want to thank all those people who support knitty. I can't, but I am grateful!

Because I have seaming to do on a large project, and stitches to pick up on a second sock, I felt compelled to cast on this brilliant @knitty.com design called Conditional Love. 🧶
I'm totally smitten, in the nerdiest, dorky way! 🤓

A very dark photo of pre dawn knitting. There are three balls of dk weight yarn in blue, red, and yellow on a red cushion with a white flower pattern. The knitted piece next to it is a reversible scarf that uses programming language to produce a delightfully nerdy pattern.

@knitty.com just finished my Fluffy Basketweave in Lion Brand wool-ease thick and quick. I will be making another in something lighter and fluffier.

Come on up! The maple syrup is especially good this year.

is made by alternating stripes of main color and contrast color. The texture results from the use of tuck stitches on a base of garter stitch. A little saddle at the top of the raglan shaping gives a neat fit over the shoulders.

Let's take a look at the patterns in Knitty's Deep Fall '25 issue! (Reminder: All Knitty patterns are FREE!)

First we have Sweetie Jar by @harvie.kate. This yummy jacket is designed to fit loosely so that it can be worn over a thinner sweater as an extra layer. The textured stripe pattern...

Definitely. But I would hate the process of having the sweater flap around for every round. It's a trade off of what I can bear vs what will work. :)

The stuff comes off in 2 hours. CANNOT WAIT.

Wonder why the vein doc didn't use vetwrap in the first place? $$$? I'd pay for it. Glad I had at least one roll in the house for this.
This elasticated roll of bandage wrap is sticky and sticks to itself only. It's about 4" wide.

Two days ago, I had tiny needles shoot goop into the varicose vein on the back of my left leg. The hardest part? The sensory nightmare of a tensor bandage falling off when it's supposed to be snug to make the treatment work.

Vetwrap saved the day for my thigh but didn't have enough for whole leg.

For those who replied, thank you! I've decided: in the round to about the last 6" and then work flat - i think that will make it easier to sew in place AND give me much less seaming to do.

BTW, @chiaogoo.bsky.social shorties are the BEST knitting needles for working sleeves in the round. Fact.
knitty.com
You know, I wondered if I should do it this way, but the flailing around of the entire sweater as I knit would be a sensory nightmare for me. Thanks tho!

Case by case basis...send me a pic! :)

Knitters, have you ever knitted the body of a dropped-shoulder pullover flat (front, back separate), and sleeves in the round? Will sewing up be a nightmare?

I like the idea of making the sleeves in the round but my brain doesn’t parse spatial stuff well so I can’t picture if I can make it work. 🧶

Knitty has it right.

Funny enough, when I was in the planning for my podcast, I kept getting advice to use AI for scripting, for graphics, for subject matter, whathaveyou. No thanks. I’d rather be my authentic weird self, and I’d rather consume real content from real people.

In all my "Knitty doesn't use AI" messaging, I forgot that designers might want to turn to it for a tweak to their intro or a tarting-up of their photos. Whoops.

It's now in the Submission Guidelines, and is the last item to confirm on the Submission Form. We don't do AI. Please you don't either.

Have people not noticed that most of the "branded" clothing is really just crap that Costco pays the brands to put their logos on? Shoes, maybe not. But sweatpants? They're not Eddie Bauer. They're cheap crap. I just don't get it.

I am a laser-focused Costco shopper, mumbling at slow-walkers and aisle-blockers behind my mask. I get in, get the stuff, get out. I have no patience for herds of people slowly meandering in a place meant to lure you into buying shit you don't need the longer you stay.

Fair (and horrifyingly true). So a dumb phone is a better choice, then.

I'm thrilled to be a part of @knittymag.bsky.social  again! Introducing Zico, a cardigan with a warm, fluffy, squishy feel and casual style. 🧶

Zico features one of my favorite sweater yarns, @missbabs.com Killington.

True. Then she should have a dumb phone, imo. Like a nice nokia - available now. So she can reach you if she needs to.

It's not one or the other. It's active parenting with better tools.
