I work in tech. Can confirm that AI mostly overpromises and under delivers. But also, this binary completely eschews ethical concerns that may shape one’s attitude towards AI, and that’s really the conversation we need to have as a society
Walkinshaw is very much a democrat, representing solid blue fairfax county …
Great news! Now do Dumfries/Manassas.
This should be a no-brainer, but it seems there’s not much any level of government loves more than shifting wealth to the already wealthy. You’re part of the change we need!
This is real crappy, but smoking and open containers has been illegal on federal property, just not enforced. The administration has decided to start enforcing as a show of strength over DC. It’s complete garbage, and absolutely an effort to terrorize people
Really appreciate this update. My spouse and I are remaining on the SAVE plan until it is no longer possible for exactly the reasons stated
Please test for strep as well! I thought my sore throat last month was covid, but it was strep, which can be treated with antibiotics
Please make regulating data centers a priority. That alone will help curb energy costs and keep our water clean and communities livable
Instead of fueling the oligarchy and overconsumption this Prime Day, go to bookshop.org and claim your free ebook - How to Resist Amazon and Why - it’s a must-read
This!! Once again, a few tech industry insiders have decided, without our consent, that we need something that has not only been oversold as a panacea, but also poses major environmental and human costs.
Not regretting my decision to move my aquaponic setup inside and rig a grow light contraption so we can have lettuce all summer long with no bitter taste from the heat.

Unfortunately we are at a point where the importance of the public square and civic involvement has been de-emphasized. Not saying I disagree with you, but the reality is if we want more people to vote regularly in an off-year primary we need to change the culture
I’m not really sure that’s the case. There hasn’t been a great information campaign for the primary races, and with a pool that seemed to include several acceptable or better candidates for non-governor positions, the urgency to vote just didn’t materialize
it’s basically wage theft at this point
Oh I know it’s only a ceremonial kicking to the curb, but satisfying nonetheless
Youngkin never misses an opportunity to betray the people of Virginia. I can’t wait until we kick his ass to the curb
Youngkin - worst Virginia governor since "Massive Resistance" - is clearly aiming to interfere with people's First Amendment rights. No Virginian should put up with this crap. bluevirginia.us/2025/06/youn... h/t @RichmondDems
It was too expensive when government funded labs attempted space censors - at least two programs were defunded in the last 20 years (PTSS and STSS), but when corporate cronies get kickbacks it’s all good. What a joke
Thank you! We need our state reps to stand up to data center creep, not aid and abet it like certain county supervisors
I would love to see Danica Roem step up to primary him. She’s been amazing as a state rep!
Thank you for continuing to bring attention to this issue. The environmental and human costs of data center proliferation cannot be ignored, and working to put limits on the sprawl is a winning bipartisan cause!
Yeah … the startup costs for all of these things make them unattainable for many, unfortunately. Not to mention recurring raw material expense. Most sweaters I knit are north of $100 in materials alone. I love my garden and fiber crafts, but they are something I am able to do out of privilege
yeah … everyone needs to understand asset forfeiture is state-sanctioned theft, and they don’t need to give it back. Even NOAA’s law enforcement office, with its seemingly benign mission, use(d) AFF spoils on frivolous expenses, never intending to return it
All the more reason to boycott and divest from Amazon
Now we have the answer. The original story was legit then Bezos backed down.
Exactly. We are fortunate enough to have been able to replace our broken dishwasher and go ahead a buy a new oven, knowing our current one is on its last legs. We’ve also invested in upgrades for the garden, including grow lights so we can move the hydroponic setup inside and grow greens year-round
