Very busy day at the studio today making some ornaments for a Christmas fair. The only problem is that the dinos are so cute I’m not going to want to sell them. 😂

Trump campaigned on an “America First” platform. Now he wants to "run" Venezuela?

60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Health care is collapsing. Housing is unaffordable.

Trump should address these major crises at home and end his illegal military adventurism abroad.

BEHOLD: TEAPOT DID NOT CRACK IN BISQUE FIRING. It is now glazed and in line for firing.

Got my double-walled vase out from glaze firing and I am IN LOVE. It was so much work that I don't think this is going to become a regular thing, but to have this much success with porcelain and a new technique? Super happy. 😊

Got my skinny-neck vase back from glaze firing. Pretty happy with it!

More Christmas ornaments - snowflakes!

Pair of doughnut vases before cleanup. Excited to fire these!

I finally vanquished my archnemesis, the teapot! So psyched about this - hopefully the kiln gods smile on me when I fire and glaze it!

Another Christmas piece. I am in love with this inner glaze (Amaco Potter's Choice Cosmic Oilspot).

Built a house luminary tonight too. 😊

Got some of my state ornaments back today. The palladium glaze on the edges bled into the clear. I'm not sure yet how I feel about them, but I'm super pleased at how shiny the palladium is!

Sake set number 2

Slip decoration on vase. Haven’t decided if I’m going to glaze in clear, a celadon, or just leave the outside unglazed. Thoughts?

Does anyone else cry at The Great Pottery Throwdown just as much as Keith does, or is it just me? 😂

This started as the bottom of a three-part vase, but it really wanted to be a giant bowl (started with 3.4 kg of clay). I'm pleased with the foot ring. 😊

I'm pretty happy about the glazing on this one. I'm loving the black on black. 😊

My sake set came out of bisque. Glazed it tonight and it’s back in line for the kiln. Each cup is glazed in obsidian celadon on the inside and ringed with a different color (smokey merlot, oatmeal, seaweed, blue rutile) and the bottle has all four on the spout. Interested to see how it comes out!

New digs at the studio!

It’s here!!! I really cannot express to you all how finely thrown this bowl is - it weighs practically nothing, yet it’s very sturdy. Thank you so much, @floriangadsby.bsky.social!

Today in class we threw a vase in three parts. I can’t wait to put them together!

Some more pieces from the kiln!

Playing with glaze layering (on my very first pinch pot). Can’t wait to see how this ends up looking.
