Cities that are serious about bikes know that they don’t really scale on transit. In Amsterdam, they don’t even allow bikes on transit. You need plentiful bike parking and bike share service.
My single family home has three floors and no elevator. It would feel less crummy if there was some way to prioritize the accessible units (ground floor) for those who needed them though.
