His arms folded, body entirely turned to face her.

“Who said this is a tease? What if I play with your body right here?”
“And as much as I love you, you know I would decline a challenge, correct?”

He stopped walking.

“I think we should take a brief break to see how needy you really are.”
“It’s no trouble. Besides, I know other ways to drift your thoughts to the latter mindset.”

His head turned to hide his subtle laugh.
He nodded.

“Spirits are not always to blame, however. In this plane, nature can be eh… quite unpredictable. Today could be summer. Tomorrow? It could snow.”

He shrugged slightly, amused.

“During my youth, this used to terrify me. But I’ve grown accustomed to is.”

still wander in this world. The unrest. Some of them trying to find their way to what they call home. Some refuse to leave this world. Either way, their behaviors are no different from that of mortals. These spirits can be pure or evil for individualistic reasons.”

the sight of a spirit that wasn’t visible to anyone but the priest.

“Looks like you have additional protection. There’s a soul roaming hear. Not as a malevolent spirit, but as a guardian.”

Kotoyuki turned his head back to Hinako.

“Though unseen to human, there are beings who

He smirked then continued to walk. Further down their path was encased in trees. The environment getting colder the further they walk. Knowing the reason, his head shifted to the location of the cause to the weather change. Grinning lightly from

He laughed softly, he head shaking.

“Then be a good girl for me. I’ll take good care of you when we return home.”
He gave her a pluck on her head with a finger while walking.

“Heavens. Even out here, you’re so needy? What am I to do with you?”

The second question more so to himself than her.
He smirked, the man knowing better than to fall for her innocent facade.

“Do you need reminding already?”
Taking her hand, he rose to his feet. Keeping her hand held as he proceeded with their walk.

“True. I’ve also became aware of how spontaneous your paces are. You like anything that makes your heart pound to your chest.”
He grinned before slowly sitting up. Even the fishes appeared to be relaxing when he glanced in the water.

“We should get going. I’m sure you desire to explore other places.”
As though reality was a dream, the sweet words brought a warm hue to his face. After nearly half an hour, his eyes finally cracked open. Looking up at her.
Unknowingly, he slept in her embrace. This being the most peaceful he ever been despite tranquility being so rare.
Her warmth and soft voice was making him more so at peace until his tiredness was evident. Not another word could be heard from him, as a result.
He smirked before his eyes return closed.

“Indeed. Your body was definitely honest about that.”
“Maybe a little. . .”

His eyes opened to look up at her. The sunlight making his orbs more golden than usual.

“Our bathing time was a little exhausting on me.”
Coming up with a way to say it was confusing even for him. Every idea he thought off felt so strange. So he lays his head on her lap. His eyes drifting shut.
His eyes widened slightly, the flush on his face darkening.

“Now that I think about it. There is one thing I desire from you.”
“Help me. Just seeing you here with me brings ease.”

He looked at her, grinning.

“This is the most I’ve ever felt joy in quite some time.”
He smiled, nodding once.

“Of course. I can plan an event for us here anytime.”

Kotoyuki crouched down until he was sitting on his knees. Taking in the warm breeze that blew underneath the pagoda.

“You can also enjoy this place if I am ever occupied with my work.”
