"I still need to feed myself. While digging through my spices seeking inspiration, I found the ras el hanout that I had bought from Samiranis Imports ... asked myself if it could work in a sauce for pasta? Of course it could."

Recipe Post: Squash Ras el Hanout Sauce
I’m working on a longer piece that is actually taking a lot of wrestling with words and phrases and research and (god help me) footnotes.

Spent a few hours catching up on school work and had the West Wing on in background. Once I was done with my work I just kept watching because it felt good to remember feeling idealistic. I hope I get the chance to feel that again someday instead of terror and rage.

This morning I volunteered to serve lunch to the clients of an SF social services org focused on the homeless. It was a humbling & unsettling experience for me as someone just past 3 years sober. It reminded me to be grateful & motivated me to keep volunteering & make myself of service.

Did you see this today?

Anti #ICE protesters carried a MASSIVE U.S.
Constitution through the streets of Minneapolis.
Not a flag.
Not a slogan.
The Constitution.
Thousands marched, demanding accountability and asking whether federal enforcement is aligning with the rights written on those pages.

Got this light installed in my kitchen today after it sat in the garage for years almost forgotten. Rather happy how it changes the entire feel of that corner, creating a sense of intimacy and calm for the room while providing enough light for precise and intentional cooking.

Lunch outside. Lately I’m spending 10-11 hours a day in front of a laptop and I feel like I need to get outside (in shorts) when i can. It’ll be wet and stormy in 36 hours so im taking a break in the sun.

I've been logged into Fb and Insta on my work laptop for a while and I just logged off. My brain keeps "reaching" for them and it's a sensation not unlike when I first got sober. I know it will pass, but for the moment it's unsettling.

A Reuters photographer captured this image of a page from Pam Bondi's "burn book," which she used to counter any questions from Democratic lawmakers during an unhinged hearing today.

It looks like the DOJ monitored members of Congress’s searches of the unredacted Epstein files.

Just wow.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Pam Bondi is acting like an entitled cheerleader who’s been busted by the principal.

Last fall I discovered some potato plants that I thought had died had sprouted volunteers Left them alone, figuring they knew best but today I noticed they were winding down. Pulled 6 good sized potatoes out of the pot & am pretty tickled with myself. Replanted some eye spuds to restart the cycle

Sigh. My last post has been reposted twice... clearly by bots because they couldn't be bothered to use a different big tittied asian woman wearing nothing but a thong.

Overheard at coffee this morning.
"So I got a lawyer."
"For what?"
"Seriously?"
"What?"
"I'm a brown skinned woman in a country that hates them."
"Oh shit. Sorry."
"Whatever. I just need one. Just in case."
