It is mainly good against U Terror and Red decks. It has issues against combo (High Tide) and Jund, all of these are consensus the best decks so you just have to hope you get the matchup lottery of the right half of your matchups. It is better now than when we were in Glee meta.
So here are some of the 'random' decks I talked about. Walls with Priest of Titania for more combo lines, UW Affinity (Looks like Glitters without Glitters), Naya Gates (Saruli does gain a lot of life) and UG Terror (for when you need removal in your U deck).
Sunday Pauper Challenge 19-Oct; 56 Players. Luffy manages to make it two wins in a row with Affinity. UB Fae in 2nd is also good to see. Biggest surprise was Cawgates in 6th, but it being the most played in top 32 (4). Lot of random decks in this top 32, surprising lack of Terror. #MTGPauper
Saturday Pauper Challenge 18-Oct; 43 Players. Affinity has it's best weekend in some time with both a win and 3rd place. Top 32 was pretty diverse, with U Terror being the most played (4). 2nd Place was actual factual burn, which hasn't been seen in months. #MTGPauper
Friday Pauper Challenge 17-Oct; 60 Players. Jund wins for the first time in a while in a diverse top 10 (save the 2 x U Terror). U Terror was the most played in top 32 (5). Dimir Fae was the 2nd most (4) and seems to be picking up play, but today all their records were 3-3. #MTGPauper
Pauper is diverse, but probably a bit stale. I don't think Jund needs any nerfs. There are plenty of things that can beat Jund. Also at least when you play against Jund it feels like an actual game, against High Tide it just feels you are playing solitaire then lose on turn 4.
Sunday Pauper Challenge 12-Oct; 67 Players! Dimir Fae managed to win a challenge with 3 High Tide in top 8. Gardens, Familiars and Elves also managed to top 8. Jund was still most played (5) in top 32, with U Terror and High Tide next (4). Red was almost non-existent today. #MTGPauper
Saturday Pauper Challenge 11-Oct; 50 Players. High Tide wins with another in top 8. 2x U Fae also in top 8. Boros Synth Coming 2nd wasn't on my bingo card, neither was Black Sac going 6-0 in swiss. Jund Most played in top 32 (6), only 1 with a winning record the rest all 3-3. #MTGPauper
Managed to Top 8 a Pauper Challenge for a change with Esper Affinity. Skyfisher + Cryogen decks are still decent but under-explored, just have to try and find the right shell. Unsure if this is it as all I really did was farm Fae decks all day. Sometimes you win matchup lottery🤷 #MTGPauper
Friday Pauper Challenge 10-Oct; 52 Players. White Heroic gets a win just to show that anything can win on its day. Different top 8 than normal with 2 Elves, 2 Affinity, Spy, U Fae to go with the usual U Terror. Elves and U Terror were most played in top 32, but only 4 pilots each #MTGPauper
Sunday Pauper Challenge 6-Oct; 63 Players. Black Sac manages to win again, with another in top 8 and 2 more in top 32. U Terror was the main threat with 2 in top 8 and most played in top 32 (6). Spy manages another 2nd place. 2 Gardens in top 10. Esper Affinity in 12th looks cool. #MTGPauper

Decided to play in my local RCQs over the weekend, didn't want to spend much so decided to play Black Skeletons and managed to top 4 both days. Deck has some good draws and can beat most things but you need a decent amount of luck to get there. Sunset Saboteur is great!
Saturday Pauper Challenge 5-Oct; 47 Players. Dimir Fae wins the challenge after no significant results for a while. The lack of Jund yesterday meant it came roaring back today as most in top 32 (7). R Madness is back to the red deck of choice but the one Rally Red still top 8'd. #MTGPauper
Friday Pauper Challenge 4-Oct; 56 Players. U Terror goes undefeated in a top 32 that was very lacking in Jund. U Fae was the most played deck in top 32 (5) with U Terror and Elves close by (4). Spy snuck in a 3rd place as I feel GY hate has lowered over the past weeks. #MTGPauper
Sunday Pauper Challenge 28-Sep; 63 Players. Familiars comes back from obscurity to win. Top 8 are all different archetypes, which hasn't happened for a while. Elves winning yesterday meant that it ended up being the most played in top 32 (6 players, tied with Jund). #MTGPauper
Saturday Pauper Challenge 27-Sep; 49 Players. Elves wins with a top 8 consisting of 2 Jund, 2 U Terror and 2 High Tide. Gruul Ponza also managed to sneak in. U Terror was the most played in top 32 (5) with U Fae and Jund close behind (4). Spiderman cards did not stick, none in top 32. #MTGPauper
Friday Pauper Challenge 26-Sep; 51 Players. Red Madness wins, with 3 more in top 32 making it the choice over Rally currently. Jund had 2 in top 8 and was the most played in top 32 (5). Black Sac also continues to impress. 4 decks tried Spiderman cards, we'll see if they stay. #MTGPauper
Sunday Pauper Challenge 21-Sep; 58 Players. What a wild top 8. Fog Tron wins, with Orzhov Blade of all things in 2nd. Cawgates in 4th and Synthless Synth in 5th. Black Sac had 4 in the top 16 which is very impressive. U Terror was still the most played in top 32 (6). #MTGPauper
Saturday Pauper Challenge 20-Sep; 44 Players. Affinity wins in a top8 that only has 1x U Terror and Jund. 3 Red decks managed to top8, with R Madness making a return for 2 of those spots. U Fae was the biggest surprise being the 2nd most played in top 32 (5) behind Jund (6). #MTGPauper
Friday Pauper Challenge 19-Sep; 50 Players. Challenges still are U Terror v Jund, with 7 and 6 of the decks respectively in the top 32. Terror having 4 in top 8 is rather scary. Black Sac had 2 in the top 8 thanks to a decent Terror matchup. RB Madness also seems to be back. #MTGPauper
Sunday Pauper Challenge 14-Sep; 56 players. Good day to be a blue deck with the top 5 all being mono U. Terror took the top 3 slots along with being the most in top 32 (7). U Fae in top 4 had some new tech in Cyptomancer. Challenges are becoming mainly U Terror v Jund. #MTGPauper
Saturday Pauper Challenge 13-Sep; 39 Players. U Terror wins over U Fae. 3 Jund Wildfire in top 8 and 4 more in top 32. Infiltrator version seems to becoming the norm. Smaller challenge means you can see some spice down the bottom even with losing records like WB Food Gates. #MTGPauper
Any hybrid card is always worth a look in for Eidolons. The only problem with this card is that the discard is part of the resolution and not the cost, so you can't discard an Eidolon and get it back with this same spell. Also only so many slots for non-creatures, but still worth the test.
