Just finished a grandiose 6-minute collab with Hoongtube today! (ongoing since last year)
It's a very experimental track that fuses different genres ranging from Japanese folk music to DnB.

Mind-Forg'd Manacles (Collab with Hoongtube)
After many painstaking months, we made it. A nice 6-minute soup of traditional Japanese folk, DnB, trip-hop and pop techno. Both of us did bits of everything but Hoong made everything flow nicely : )

I could help... maybe. What kind of assets/sprites do you need exactly?

If game dev is a marathon, why are we always sprinting?

Btw you could also make a demo that's free and then make a full version that's paid but it'll have to be quite big to justify it though.
It depends on the quality and length of the game, but if it's your first then I'd recommend making it free. Putting a price tag will make it harder to sell to an audience who's never heard of you. Also, it'll make cheapskates like me happy :)
lol "most mentally stable"
I'm curious to see what the other characters are like. the art style is fairly unique :)
Oh I see. In that case, good luck! Creating effects like that requires some careful work.
I agree. I respect what you tried Scotty, but it looks a bit jarring. I don't know what software you're using but I'd recommend making the waterfall sprite move down for X seconds before teleporting it back to its original position. If done right, this will give a seamless illusion of motion.
Hate how that's a universal thing.

the best joke in videogames development is replying "ship it" to every broken ass prototype no I will not be taking questions

I'm done for today and I'm surprised that I was able to make this, even tho I still gotta work on the whole spinosaurus and finish the background. This is the first time in months...or years that I actually feel good about myself and my art

this is literally a lose-lose-lose situation. a TRIPLE lose 😭
I've released at least 10 games and only one of them kinda blew up (got about 4500 views on Scratch and lots of positive comments!)
To be fair, the majority were made back when I was an amateur and I didn't know anything about marketing. Still don't to be honest.
the intro is cool but i think the instrumentation gets a bit cluttered towards the end. there's too much going on for me to focus on one consistent melody or rhythm.

Hot take 🔥:

Game programming 🎮 isn't hard. It's just too boring for some people to learn

Be careful who you prank.

this is too relatable...
Make it a meta commentary on the prevalence of game-breaking bugs in million dollar triple A productions. Ez profit
/s
bruh how did this not get any likes? that crazy intro alone should've guaranteed at least a couple.
I deal with this nonsense even to this day and I'd consider myself a mostly rational dev now. On the bright side, I've learnt to foresee when this happens 👀
Of course, if I struggle to fix it, the "its a feature, not a bug" card is always available... right??
