That’s what you get when you try to make something very small, it can’t be avoided. You either have to deal with that or stick with the good version despite the size.

1. We didn’t upload, A&C did.
2. The point is to provide an encode roughly the equivalent of a UHD-BD. The raw is already more than 1TB, so we don’t want to neuter it with a crappy LQ encode. This is as low as we’re willing to go. If you want that then you’re free to download it and do it yourself.

A&C has taken the liberty of releasing this in 4K using our scan, & they’ve included a number of audio and subtitle options…
LATAM, Castellano & French dubs along with the OG JPN audio…
And their own new Spanish subs, along with Saizen’s English subs!
Many thanks to their team!

As mentioned, this & the rest of Captain Tsubasa has never been remastered in HD officially. Here are some comparison images from the DVD!

(Btw, the only other complete HD remastered work from it also comes from us, the 3rd film “Run Towards Tomorrow”!)

New upload! Clip from the 1987 live-action adaptation of Shakotan Boogie, scanned by us from a 35mm print, subbed by LonelyChaser Fansubs!
This film was only ever released on VHS/LD, & streaming uses an SD master, making this the only HD version out there!

Jail Birds (1934)
Silent, cut-down version of a sound Terrytoon released by Castle Films.
kinekovideo.bsky.social
Yeah that’s completely incorrect and no such fire took place.

The master film is not lost at all, since the HD remaster was done using the original finalized negative.
However, what likely was disposed of/not kept was that pre-videotape animation they used to shoot the visual effects like you see in that one shot on this roll. That probably can’t be recovered.

It’s not possible. Aside from like one cut in a trailer, no other “uncensored” footage exists. Aside from these cuts, the entire movie was already in its original version. bsky.app/profile/kine...

In case you're wondering why there isn't MORE uncut footage than previously seen, it's because it never existed at all. This was all there was the whole time. Anything else that may have been altered was done before theatrical release, & was likely intentional from the beginning.
There are no other scenes that were cut from the print. It is possible that shots seen uncut on a pre-release trailer were pre-censored before release, but this is all that we found was swapped. You may also be confusing censorship for shots with intentional video effects.
That means that, as far as can be actually proven with our analysis of the theatrical print and the spliced-out uncut segments, is that anything else that was left there was intentional, and only these scenes specifically were the result of a rushed censorship attempt by Toei.

Uh... It's right in front of you.

It was not included on this reel. Pretty sure that one was only ever uncut on a pre-release trailer of the movie.
