Back out this morning for another 36 km. That Mobile Bike Guy was at my house tuning my bike up yesterday. Needs more work, but I still had to ride. He warned me the new chain would conflict with the injured gears. He was right. Still great being out there. Indoor bike is allset to go when needed.
MAD is needed now more than ever!
A great ride on this cold morning after two days off. Went thru the usual, doubting whether I should go, but feeling great once I completed my ride.
O, that's got to be a beaut of an issue. Saw a copy of MAD at the drugstore yesterday. Retails for $17.99! That's mad!
I knew it was somewhere!
Taking today off cycling. Six days in a row has left me exhausted. Remember back a couple of years ago when I rode 40 days in a row. I have to go with how I feel. I am heading toward 85,000 km since May 2020 faster than I would have guessed. Always fun seeing the big milestones come into view!
Rode 70 km yesterday morning. Good ride aside from the fact of some malicious SOB deliberately driving into the bike path and forcing me onto the grass. I kept my balance but I have passed that stretch hundreds of times and there is no doubt in my mind this was deliberate. Finished the ride.

This was the 1st Halloween my kids went without me. I nearly went out myself. Wish I had read this post yesterday evening!
Coldest morning yet this year, but it's said right now that the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest, so I must head out on the bike.
5/5 mornings striving for 9,000 km for the year before the end of October. Made it. Good ride this morning, though very cold out. Very happy the temperature doesn't bother me this year as it did last year. Always happy to hit a goal!
It's 2:37 a.m. and appears reasonably dry outside, so it looks like I will be able to do my 5th ride in a row this week and hopefully get the KMs I need to hit my goal. Watching a Season 7 episode of Barney Miller while having my coffee.
4/5 indoor ride today due to rain. Got only 25 km. My gear broke around the 13 km mark, but I kept peddling. Really don't want to miss hitting 9,000 km for the year tomorrow. Raining now. It will be a miserable ride tomorrow, but I have to get those kilometers!
3/5 rides on my way to 9,000 km for the year by Friday. Good ride this morning, nearly 40 km. It all adds up. Wonderful to find that 40 degree F weather is not daunting at all.
Interesting, my novella has come out to be 26,000 words exactly
2/5 rides this week 35 km, heading toward 9,000 km for the year by Friday.
I am interested to see if my new approach to Lose It will work (not logging my exercise). I was over my calorie budget by almost 900 last week, but burned 3300+ just with Saturday's ride. The idea is to get a handle on my eating!
1/5 rides this week 35 km, heading toward 9,000 km for the year by Friday. Cold morning, but the cold does not deter me like it did last year.
These kind of weeks come up from time to time -- a challenge to ride 35 km a day for five days so that I can hit 9,000 km for the year before October is done. I have achieved these goals in the past. We'll see if the weather cooperates and if my nerve can hold.
I tried using the calorie counting app Lose it, a few years ago, but when I factored in my exercise, it allotted me so many calories, I actually started gaining weight. Eventually I just abandoned it. Trying it again, but this time not logging my exercise. Just need the mindfulness it provides.
