I often find myself longing for those days when life moved at a gentler, more peaceful pace.

Yes, for more than a decade now. And while I do appreciate our conversations and there are problems he can support me with, it doesn’t help my mood, since my depression stems from things in my body that aren’t working right (problems with my mast cells and autoimmune stuff).

I feel that so much… the darker seasons can really weigh heavy, even if autumn has its beauty.

Right now it takes all my willpower just to keep myself from breaking. Without it, I’d destroy myself entirely.

Waking up in full body pain was a harsh reminder that it’s already very late to search for a place to spend the cold season.

But honestly, I gave myself up a few weeks ago when the depression became too heavy. Ditched important appointments, stopped planning, stopped caring...

Thanks for sharing this with me. It takes so much strength to step away from something that hurts, especially family. Really glad you found warmth & acceptance, that must mean a lot. I can imagine how the holidays still bring up mixed feelings, but it’s good to hear it gets easier each year.

You’re right, sometimes creating and sharing moments with friends can help light a little spark again. I’m trying to hold on to that thought and not give up, even when it feels heavy and I have not felt any happiness since many years.
