We visited some stunning natural scenery last night with our Conductor-in-Residence @kevinjohnedusei.bsky.social at Cadogan Hall in Sibelius' majestic Symphony No.2, Grieg's Piano Concerto with @borisgiltburg.bsky.social, and Gabriella Smith's Field Guide, filled with the noisy abundance of life.

MS EXPRESS SAMINA

Diving the wreck of the MS Express Samina.

The ferry sank off the coast of Paros island in the central Aegean Sea on 26 September 2000. The accident resulted in 81 deaths and the loss of the ship. Humbling experience.

Pierre Boulez would have been 100 today!

I had the privilege to be mentored by maestro Boulez preparing to conduct Stockhausens masterwork GRUPPEN für 3 Orchester at the 2007 @lucernefestival

Boulez had conducted orchestra 3 in the premiere of the piece in 1958!

Boy, can he write! Brilliant latest novel of Richard Powers. Loved how he raises the level of complexity towards the end of the book which pertains to his motto of dissolving time and perspective.
