I received that book as a gift when I was 10. Upon publication, It was a Book-of-the-Month selection and my mother saw the title, knew I liked monsters and ordered it. Her research ended there. I read it. It turns out that it was not really a book for a 10-year old. :)

I’ve been using a TiVo since the very beginning. I think I purchased almost every model released (remember the one with the built-in DVD burner?). Even though I thought the quality of both the software and hardware have declined, this is still sad (but inevitable) news.

I sympathize. I’ve been a “hard stick” all of my life. Having had regular draws for about 45 years and it is rare that they’ve been able to get it from my arm, and even rarer when it is on the first try. It is crazy that phlebotomists still have to rely on sight and touch.

I’ve been trying to stop using Amazon as much as possible and am a lot less stressed as a result. Between @orbitdvd.bsky.social, @diabolikdvd.bsky.social, Atomic Movie Store, and buying directly from labels, I’ve managed almost drop Amazon completely.
