I really want to get portrait/vertical mode setup for CoP so that:
a) it works on vpins
b) I can make YouTube shorts
c) I can keep ignoring the all the rubbish things I don’t want to do

#TinyTeams2025 unite! 😄 thank you, I’ve had my eye on Diecast ever since, all the best for release can’t wait to play the full game!
I guess so, but it feels like gate-crashing a party where you don’t know anyone. And you’re selling stuff. And I hate parties.
I’m not an expert by any means but have worked on a few releases, and the ones that had pre-built modules for things like saving, input, console support and others were the ones that had the least amount of crunch/panic at the end. Btw you’ve done an amazing job, I’m sure this is going to be huge!
Yeah that’s v clever. I think about trying to maybe court the traditional pinball audience a bit, but was worried they’d say ‘what have you done to our beautiful game, GTFO’
In short, don’t rush it if you can avoid it - future you will be very grateful!
I had this exact scenario years ago, and ended up making a modular system that has been one of the first things I add to any project ever since. One class for saving/loading with built in encryption, another for serializing game-wide progress and a 3rd for mid-run progress. JsonConvert is a beast.
That’s really good to know actually, I was wondering if it was a post-successs approach so that’s great to hear! Thank you for the suggestion and thanks x1000 for that message of support - I don’t got this yet but I WILL!!
Ha, I did do a double take at the name when I first read it ;) Great suggestion, although I also think he could pocket-tweet and there would still be 12 articles in the gaming press about what it meant the next day. Passion is one thing I absolutely have - the words to portray that however, are not!
To expand on this a bit: teams can separate themselves somewhat from the content they post, which massively limits the cringe-effect and there’s loads of awesome examples of this. I just can’t seem to find a voice that represents me as a solo dev that doesn’t also make me sound like a total asshat.
Are there any really good, demonstrably successful examples of a #solodev doing their own marketing that anyone can point me towards? I’ve accepted that I don’t have the slightest clue what I’m doing and need to learn, quickly. #gamedev #indiedev #marketing
The only good think about obsessively refreshing the Wishlist view is that you get to catch moments like this. Thank you x4000 to you each of these wonderful people! #gamedev #steam #indiegamedev #indiedev #solodev

For #ScreenshotSaturday, here's a WIP grab of one of the 8 new rituals I've been working on. In my head, this makes a sound like 'zjweee-thwit-bkoowww', but my head is also a really wierd place to be these days.
