Tens of millions of Americans innately hate people with dark skin, moreso when they’re told those people are trying to take something from them. Then they look for and adopt purer forms of that hate, landing on Nazism as the most hateful and historically successful. Basic racism is a gateway drug.
The horse has left the barn. With his very election (the first time!), Americans gave license to the very worst people to live out their worst and most selfish impulses all the time without an ounce of shame. Tens of millions of them.
