I’m an older amateur game creator. I’m completely out of touch with the latest trends… so please go easy on me. If you notice any bugs or mistakes in the translation, I’d appreciate it if you could let me know.

I never imagined the day would come when the official Inkscape account would repost one of my posts...! I'm so honored, I woke up my sleeping cat just to dance around! I'm still a rookie, but I'll keep using Inkscape with all my might—thanks so much and looking forward to more!

I still play Kowloon's Gate and L.S.D on PlayStation, and this game gives me a similar vibe. I love games that feel like works of art!

I thought I was seeing things… but the official Inkscape account liked my post!? Thank you! All my game graphics—except free backgrounds—were made entirely with Inkscape. I probably wouldn’t have started making games without it. Thanks for such an amazing tool!

It’s currently 8:15 AM Japan time. I've finally finished the morning cat maintenance and am taking a short break. Next, I'll be preparing the cat's medicine. Wishing everyone a great day!
“Tachikawa Bunko” was the most popular “kōdan-bon” series of the time, featuring ninjas like “Sarutobi Sasuke,” “Kirigakure Saizō,” and “Ishikawa Goemon.” But as children’s stories, they lacked depth or romance, making them rather immature as film material.

Early Japanese films were based on kabuki, but their low quality soon made them children’s fare. “Kōdan-bon” (popular storytelling books) were a big hit then, and films shifted from kabuki to those tales.

“Sarutobi Sasuke” is a famous ninja. First appearing in a 1913 “Tachikawa Bunko” story, he was trained by “Tozawa Hakūnsai,” founder of “Kōga-ryū,” and served “Sanada Yukimura” as a master of ninja arts.

Hard to explain in text, so here’s a quick UI guide.
Top left: day & location. If SE is ON, sound info appears.
Top right: remaining pages. Yellow bar shows progress—when full, the day ends.
Gear icon opens menu for save/load and settings.

I’m really bad at drawing, so I can’t handle raster images that can’t be fixed later. That’s why all my game graphics were made in Inkscape. Well… they still look pretty bad, though.
#VisualNovel
My game was made with TyranoScript, an HTML5 engine for visual novels. It has more issues than Nscripter—especially async errors. I’ve fixed most, but some may remain. Please let me know if you find any.

“Ichisuji, Ninuke, Sanyakusha” was a motto by Shozo Makino, the father of Japanese cinema: story first, film quality second, acting third. He meant that even the best acting depends on a solid script.

Early Japanese cinema was strongly influenced by Kabuki, with onnagata — men playing female roles — instead of actresses. Being silent films, performances were almost perfect except for oddities in close-ups. Even early actresses were trained by former onnagata.

In Meiji–Taishō Japan, early Katsudō Shashin films often remade Kabuki plays — including Chūshingura. The earliest known one, Chūshingura: Godanme (1907), is lost. In the game, Chamuhara’s lines were imagined by the creator, based on that Kabuki scene.

“Chūshingura” — a famous Kabuki drama depicting the true story of the forty-seven rōnin, who avenged their master’s death in 18th-century Japan. Revered as one of the three great Kabuki plays.
