🔋 Tesla rumored to be behind the $4.3 billion deal with LG Energy Solution.

LG is to provide Tesla with LFP batteries manufactured at its Michigan plant from 2027 to 2030.

In parallel, Tesla is in setting up its own LFP production facility.

Sodium-iron batteries at grid scale: 200MW/400MWh, enough to "regulate up to 580 GWh annually."

For many working in battery R&D, this development isn’t surprising—but it does highlight a growing divide in innovation and deployment between the U.S. and other global players.

Good news for batteries...but potentially bad news for domestic manufacturing of batteries.
