The thing I appreciate about the #shittycamerachallenge is not just the fun of using cameras that are objectively, shall we say, past their best - but that it makes me faff about taking pictures when I otherwise probably wouldn't have bothered :)

Oh, My. God. I've hit the jackpot. A 72MP camera, 5-axis stabilisation 5K ultra HD, 3.95mm f1.8 lens. Just look at that lens — and the flash. That's like a lighthouse. Amazing. It even came with a 64GB microSD card.

Had a go at cleaning the Photavit IV yesterday. Thought there might have been an unexposed film in the canister so opened it in the dark bag. There wasn't.
An open Photavit canister. Around the edges is old sticky tape and inside is a small broken piece of film which was once taped to the film spool. That tape is well decayed.

Too late for the Crappy Commie Camera Party, but this arrived a couple of days ago and I've given it a good cleaning. The Fotopribor SKF-1 stereo adaptor. Made in the 1980s for the Helios-44M 58mm lens. Cleaned and (hopefully) adjusted, just waiting for some nice weather.

A photograph of a foot bridge over the Huron river leading to a walking path into the woods of a Michigan park. The image was edited to simulate the look of Kodak infrared slide film. I am experimenting with editing some of my digital images in an attempt to emulate the look of false-color infrared slide film. Kodak Aerochrome, and Ektachrome Infrared EIR films produced surreal landscape images with foliage appearing pink, or red, instead of the normal green color one would expect. These long discontinued film stocks are almost impossible to find these days, and they are incredibly expensive if they do turn up. Digital editing seems to be the most affordable way I can create Aerochrome type images like this one.
