Hard Switch is a great book. Long wait for a follow up, but glad it's happening!

BIG NEWS! Get ready for more THE HARD SWITCH by @odpomery.bsky.social! 🎉 The trio is back, hiding out and searching for a sustainable way to travel between worlds... but trouble is mounting! Look for this sci-fi sequel in Fall 2026!

Yeah in the last couple of months *I think*. It's quite expensive though at (in your currency) $60

It'll likely happen, but I think Warner did a 6 film boxset with those two in it this year

One of my mounts gained a new skin yesterday via a gift and it's a bee!

When I mean sub, I mean going to the feed and pinning it to your feed lists (which can be sorted in any order from the feeds menu). You can then peruse a given feed from the top or side bars on Bluesky
kdsbooks.bsky.social
For those who want to add to their existing SF, horror, crime, non-fic BookSky feeds, there are now some new ones - thanks to Elise

As said below and with the other feeds, keywords and specific emoji combos will add a post to the feed. But these things only work if people sub to them as well

This also ties into an old Gene Wilder film I used to watch a lot as a kid. Judging by comments online I think I’m the only Haunted Honeymoon fan!

Be interested to see if it still holds up

Halloween Radio: Quiet Please
The Internet Archive/YT has the extant eps of Wyllis Cooper's unique late 40s series. Sound quality can be iffy but ck out: The Smell of High Wines, Camera Obscura, Some People Don't Die, My Son John, Rain on New Year's and of course The Thing on the Fourble Board. (1)

I originally discovered them about 12 years ago in a video game, but I’ve always been intrigued by them ever since I watched Haunted Honeymoon with Gene Wilder as a kid
kdsbooks.bsky.social
A lot of these I discovered through the old mmo The Secret World, which played them as part of a quest at Halloween. That game had the best quests in any game I’ve played

Anyway, here’s my next listen: The House in Cypress Canyon, from Suspense

I've read very little and what I did read within the last year - Hound of the Baskervilles and The Valley of Fear. I've read a lot of Conan Doyle (ghost stories, Sir Nigel, Lost World), but very little of most famous work

On this day, in 1892, "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" was published. Although the stories it contained had appeared before in magazines, this marked their debut in book format. Are you a #SherlockHolmes fan? What have you read? #💙📚 #Booksky

Yeah, looking at their site, exports got hit by tariffs and other regulations, so they now temp focus on the popular titles. It’s much the same with US series I collect which are rare to find over here.

Importing books has become so much harder the last few years, it’s a real shame for everyone

It's that time of year I begin listening to episodes of old horror radio shows like Wyllis Cooper's 'Quiet, Please' from the 1940s

Northern Lights (linked below via Youtube) and The Thing on the Fourbleboard amongst my favourites

That is genuinely one of the best mount skins in a very long time, if not ever. But I hope bees can swim!

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is my seventh in the series this year. We are deep in its anime phase at this point, after the more gothic earlier entries
Death greets the heroes. Charlotte says in the text box “Calm down, Jonathan! You can’t beat him without a strategy!” A giant slime boss emerging talk from a cauldron. Charlotte uses magic whilst Jonathan leaps up with his overhand axe swipe

I hover around 20-25% read/DNF at a very rough count. I also need more shelving for the rest…
