Started at 51, now 52 🎓 Full-time IT pro + part-time Computer Science student. Graduating at 53 for career advancement. Crazy? Maybe. But proof it’s never too late to grow. Fun fact: my 25yo son is in the same program in-person — we’ll graduate side by side.

Hubby’s away, so I went to a hockey game with our season tickets. We host international students, and Krishna, who lived with us for 3 years, feels like a daughter. I hadn’t seen her in months, so I invited her. We chatted more than we watched—but we won! 🏒 Came home to my NHL team losing. :(

First day back to work after a few weeks off due to my dad's passing. So much to get caught up on!! 😭 I'm so grateful for a job that allows paid time off for time with a dying parent and then bereavement leave. 🙏

My Dad passed away yesterday; he was 73. I spent the last 7 years caring for him; the last 7 days at his bedside in the hospital. He lived with mental illness and substance use challenges all his life. All his relationships were complicated, including with me. It's time to finally rest easy Dad. 💜

Spent the weekend meal prepping: chili, lasagna, shepherd’s pie, meatballs, and two soups. Next weekend’s all about chicken dishes. Hoping this makes fall/winter smoother as I juggle FT college + FT work. It’s a lot, but my future self will thank me. 52 years young and still learning! Grad apr26!!
