Yeah, if you want the hard news: the best (especially new) device to do video and often photography at $1000 or less is an iPhone mounted on a gimbal or stand

That's on top of the visual craft aspect of it, where the average person probably can tell if something is off or feels weird, but often are unable to articulate why let alone determine a solution. so it feels random, awkward, soft and gooey and out of your control
