I’ve accidentally seen stuff like that there too before. Sometimes it’s for awareness about human rights abuse some places but there should still be a warning or filter over it because it can traumatize people to suddenly see real gore.

Askeladd had heard some vague information of who Canute was traveling with and that one was a woman. So although Katja doesn’t look like a man, the fact that Canute is really pretty and feminine looking is what got it a bit confusing.

I got mistaken for a man as a teen BTW lol.

Also remember Katja is the same age as Canute so Ragnar is also protective of her for that reason along with the fact that she is special to Canute.

Ragnar teaches Katja some bow and knife skills so she can protect herself because she wanted to learn.

I mean Katja isn’t really bad looking but she’s not as pretty as Canute! Also Askeladd saying he won’t be responsible for her….coming with the band definitely wouldn’t be safe for her around so many men but of course Ragnar considers her within his protection along with Canute.
