On Saturday, we said goodbye to studio supervisor Draco. Studio duties included zealously working towards his goal of most 'Naps in the Studio'. He was ever the optimist when it came to all and anyone's food.

Thank you! It's crochet combined with acrylic paint and paper, so I figured mixed media was probably the best descriptor art-wise but I personally think of it as mostly fiber art since the paint is sprayed through found doilies.

Now that it's February, I'm almost done #crocheting the solid sections of Memory XXII. 🤔

Thank you! Enameling can be very instant gratification compared to other kiln firing processes. Each color or layer would have taken 1.5-2 minutes in the kiln. Depending on the amount of pieces and colors, it could still take some time to fire everything but not hours per firing like ceramics.

I'm stuck inside today but my work outside the Dubuque Museum of #Art is currently basking in 70 degree February weather.

Some images from Distorted Recollections, a solo show featuring work from the Memory series that closed earlier this month at the Dubuque Museum of #Art in Iowa. The works were made by spraying paint through #crochet #doilies onto paper and then #stitching through and crocheting on top of it.
