I read books. Bear with me as I exit my doomscroll cave and remember how to interact with others on social media.

Current reads:
The Enchanted April

Every time I start to become active on here I get immediately sucked into a new read and lose all ability to interact online. This week's read is the entire Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion series, I am in despair over my one remaining book left to read in it.

As someone who's just enough of a perfectionist to fret over marking in their books, I may have found the one genre that compels me to tab, highlight, and jot down notes in the margins: poetry. #booksky

Hey. Hey.

Please don’t wait for an indie book series to be finished before you pick up the books. Just buy them. Don’t wait.

So MANY indie series never get finished because the author gets zero sales on the opening volumes and gives up.

Give them a reason to keep going.

Buy the books.

Alright two months later and the slump hasn't ended. Though I have had some great reads! Some highlights of the past two months are Yield Under Great Persuasion by Alexandra Rowland and Moon Soul by Nathaniel Luscombe. I've also dipped my toe into the world of poetry through Mary Oliver's works

Moving and starting a new job all in the span of 3 months slammed me right into a reading slump, but The Green Kingdom by Cornelia Funke is pulling me out of it

Well, I lasted two days. Already reading a book not on my physical tbr. 💙📚

It's official! First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison is my first five-star read of 2025! This book is so unbelievably charming. Everything about this worked for me, and I can't wait to annoy everyone I know by recommending this book until they give in and read it! 💙📚

This book has just surprised me in a way no other book has! I could see the miscommunication trope coming from a mile away and the main character smacked it away and had an honest conversation! I'm swooning! 💙📚

Anyone else feel like how they rate their books is majorly influenced by right place right time? I swear the first book I read after a slump is always a five star read and I can't tell if it takes a five star read to get me out of the slump or I just desperately love what I happen to read first. 💙📚

Ooh another rule to tackle my book slump: I must read from my physical tbr, it's up to 19 books 🙈

New strategy for overcoming my book slump: I can only read one book at a time. We'll see how that goes 💙📚

Finally reading something that has hooked me! About 80 pages into First-Time Caller and really enjoying it! 💙📚

Oh! And I've been too busy playing No Man's Sky and Hello Kitty Island Adventure to read
February 5, 2025 at 4:52 PM
But! My book of the month box arrives today filled with four books I desperately want to read, crossing my fingers I can pull myself out of the slump

Well I've been super inactive online and haven't finished a book in weeks, I'm officially in a slump
February 5, 2025 at 4:44 PM
My patience has paid off, I've officially signed my offer letter for my new job!
January 31, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Well, my daily stress levels have almost ruined my will to read, but I have been spending all of my free time playing No Man's Sky and all I can say is wow

This week started on a high with some great news but I now must engage every ounce of patience in my body. Unfortunately there's actually not that much to draw on

Unfortunately just had my first official dnf of the year. All I will say is that it had about 15 too many pop culture references and I just couldn't take it anymore. 💙📚

When the 4 Non Blondes said “And so I wake in the morning and I step outside, and I take a deep breath and I get real high
and I scream from the top of my lungs WHAT’S GOIN ON?!”

I really felt that.

Saw a video today about how laying down as soon as you get home from work kills any motivation to do things at home. I can't express just how happy I was to get home and destroy my motivation. I'll be horizontal until further notice.

One of the longest work weeks of my life is officially over. Deep breaths.
