Click through and read through this incredibly good explanation about the power of turning the monstrance away at the gates of the ICE dentition centre in Chicago. Centuries of context matter; the symbolism is powerful to those who understand it.

It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

Jinty Nelson was an incredibly kind person. Years ago I sat next to her at a conference dinner in Oregon, where she scolded the keynote speaker for being unkind about a presenter, and took uncommon interest in me even though I wasn't yet in academia. She still remembered me years later when I was.

"If anything made her a little intimidating in later life, it was her absolute, uncompromising refusal to pretend to be anything she was not, or to like anything that she did not, for the sake of pleasing others. She was entirely unapologetic about being herself and about what mattered to her".

Awful news from Wales, the St Fagan's Museum has been broken into and prehistoric goldwork has been taken. Its painful to think what objects might now be at risk. Thoughts with the museum team who must be devastated, all speed to the police and a curse on the crooks.
