Book shops, especially the small independents, are important gems on our high streets. Places of serendipity and discovery to be valued. Support them if you can.

So much autumnal colour in my garden.

@katebod.bsky.social Hi! We're creating a new community for under-represented writers. Could you share our survey so we can understand what's helpful to them? There's book vouchers to win for those who complete the survey. Tx

Last night I watched the fantastic @ledbydonkeys.org by @sohotheatre.bsky.social Walthamstow, and today I watched #Panorama about the Met Police. Thank you for calling corruption, racism, misogyny and violence out.
Ten years ago today, I was off my face on drugs in central London as @uclh.bsky.social removed my cancerous bladder and fitted me with a #Neobladder. Today I celebrate 10 years cancer-free. Thankyou UCLH! #BladderCancer
So not surprised by #Fergie. I had the misfortune of interviewing her many moons ago. #JustAwful
My first charcuterie boards.
I was looking back at you to see you looking back at me to see me looking back at you. (📸 @elitelipreader.bsky.social)
Crikey! Thames Water bill is going up from £53 to £91 a month! We are a household of two who never take baths. What is going on?
Yes. Initial reports said 500 and I could see 500 from where I was standing.

Anyway, you learn something every day and today I learned my waterproof was not in fact waterproof at all. #Soaked
We were very small in comparison. 😞
Thanks to @stagetext.bsky.social for providing captions for Fawlty Towers in the West End last night. @sohotheatre.bsky.social could learn from @nimaxtheatres.bsky.social & get captioned performances on so @elitelipreader.bsky.social & other #Deaf folk can access the new theatre in Walthamstow.
It may be the end of summer but our hanging basket is coming into its own.
A big week beckons so how better to prepare than a spot of gardening? The dahlias I overwintered with mulch are appearing, the fuschias are in full bloom, the love-in-a-puff I grew from seed are starting to flower, and the dwarf roses are having a second wind.
Loved the Bourdon Street Chippy.
