Hold on to your boa babe, I know a girl.

Lefty, legal, unionist and Swiftie. Owned by pugs.

Lamingtons must have jam.

I pray to my lord and saviour, Eddie Vedder.
If you're a fan of The West Wing, or a fan of Martin Sheen (and you really MUST be a Martin Sheen fan), check out his new podcast. He's going to talk about his life and inspiration as an actor and activist. The first episode features his reading of many poems. It's 30 minutes of bliss.

My concern about calls for the QLD parliament to call an election is QLD would reelect the LNP. Queenslanders have not yet been sufficiently stung by this lot of charlatans.

Just saw Mumford and Sons in Montreal and it was one of the best shows I’ve seen…and I’ve seen a lot. From start to finish it was sensational. If you can get to a show, do it!

Just watched Stephen Sanchez open for Mumford and Sons in Montreal and I’d go see him play anywhere - slayed the place. Absolutely sensational!

Incredible, people are only just working this out.

New tattoo healing nicely.

I’m enjoying the Crows going out in straight sets a little too much. #afl

I just had to get an International Drivers Permit so I can drive in Canada and the process appears to not have changed since the 1970s. Paper glue on photo and all. Insane that in 2025 this is even necessary (not by the government, by insurers!)

Always saddens me to think of the hundreds of thousands of people who died fighting N@zi$ in WW2, only to have I$r@el align with those N@zi$, instead of their neighbouring Palestinians, less than a lifetime later.

An extra four weeks paid leave and a holiday to Italy would have me in good space too.

This has echoes of Wiambilla. Stay safe.

First big bike ride for me today - 31kms around Lake Burley Griffin (including to/from home). That's my longest ride ever. I can barely walk but gosh it felt good and it's such a beautiful city to ride in!

It is ever so frustrating that supposed academic institutions, including one I was employed by (two decades ago) and another where I got a law degree, can think that being Jewish is the same as being Zi*nist, and therefore any critique of Zi*nism is anti-semitic. (1/7)

Very sad news. Father Riley was one of the people who gave me hope that the true spirit of Catholicism - charity, service to others and dignity in humanity - was not completely lost.

Gotta say, watching two friends commence their parliamentary careers today - one in the Senate, one in the HoR - is very exciting. #auspol

I'll be in Canada for two months later this year and have shouted myself a ticket and two day trip to Montreal to see Mumford and Sons. I am ridiculously excited - love that band and have never been to Montreal.

Getting this to just 10 was brutal.
July 12, 2025 at 1:27 PM
I created a #HottestAussie100 list and this far with a HARD CULL it's at 42 songs. To get it to 10? I don't know if I can.

I tell you, I might be too old to paint rooms and build furniture when I move. My body feels abut 200 years old after this week.

On the bright side, it's coming together, the walls look gorgeous and tonight should* be the last night in the spare bed before our new bed arrives.

Settled in Canberra today. One pug absolutely loving it, the other absolutely not. Having a camping night tonight- hoping belongings arrive tomorrow!

The pictured are off the walls. The shelves are packed up and there are boxes are everywhere. I despise moving but gosh I cannot wait to be in our new home.

@australianlabor.bsky.social as a former candidate and member, I am mortified by our capitulation to a bombing that has no grounding in intelligence and which aligns us to a corrupt American regime. You must rethink this and act with integrity and decency here - innocent lives depend on it.
June 23, 2025 at 2:14 AM
Being horrified and opposed to the bombing of Iran is not a show of support for its fundamentalist regime. It's dismay that *another* fundamentalist regime (USA) has landed those bombs without reason and on behalf of yet **another** fundamentalist regime (Israel).

Federal Labor need to grow a fucking spine and denunce Trump and his bullshit NOW.
June 22, 2025 at 11:02 AM
And a war the USA cannot win.
Donald Trump, a weak and dangerously reckless president, has put the United States on a path to a war in the Middle East that the country does not want, the law does not allow, and our security does not demand.
