yeah it's deeply annoying! i just updated chrome on my work computer and it's got a pinned gemini star in the top right corner, but it allowed me to unpin it? so i'm hopeful that maybe THAT'S the way to opt out.

i haven't figured out how to turn it off yet, but it does seem like perhaps you need to "opt in" to it? at least in my browser it gives me instructions for entering AI mode...but idk what version of chrome you're on (or what i'm on tbh) and what that changes!

i love the final months of the year. even though we're racing toward an ending, the whole school-year-beginning of it all just gives me "new start" vibes, and i feel energized by the nip in the air, the gloom in the skies, and i am always ready to do more and get better. i love these months!!!

god i hate genAI so much and one reason is because i can't trust anything anymore. i miss the days when i could trust that a photo or a piece of art on my feed was the result of human creativity & ingenuity and not three prompts in a fucked-up trench coat.
