I have all the respect in the world for Nancy pelosi. She was a strong speaker who kept her caucus together and knew exactly what was needed in Trump’s 1st term. She’s from a bygone era and she didn’t fully comprehend the era she’s in until her husband was attacked with a hammer by the other side
No Mark. Worth a discussion but I don’t agree. She didn’t say we need a, “pro-democracy Republican Party,” or a “Strong, conservative Republican Party.” She said we need a “strong, Republican Party.” If she meant something different she should correct the record. If she didn’t, she should retire.
The other thing about Nancy Pelosi is that, like all of us who are Cassandras in political science, she was right about the need for a strong Republican Party (by which she, & we, mean a strong pro-democracy conservative party). This is deeply unpopular on Bluesky dot com, but no less true for it.
