It says a lot about the modern American economy that law firms are taking up 10% of all office space.
Law firms now make up more than a tenth of all leasing activity for U.S. office space, doubling their share since the pandemic as other sectors have pulled back, according to newly released data from brokerage Savills reut.rs/3KaTfeS

Never have I been happier that a post aged badly! A gutsy, season-saving performance from #15.
This is the most brutal run for my sports teams in recent memory.

It’s all my fault, I know.

But seriously, so proud of Harvard for a memorable season. Hopefully a spot in the FCS playoffs awaits.

It was just a joy to see @judgedillard.bsky.social receive the Rehnquist Award for Judicial Excellence at tonight’s NCSC dinner. Such a worthy recognition of an exemplary ambassador for the American bench.

Having started the day at one of Cass Gilbert’s federal courthouses, happy to end it at the other for the National Center for State Courts dinner.

However today’s case comes out, it went better than my last visit to the Second Circuit, when (for the first time in my career) I had a horrible case of laryngitis and sounded like the appellate version of Patrick Mahomes…
Foley Square at sunrise. It’s an oral argument day here in New York.

So great to catch up over lunch with Bob Barnes, the retired Supreme Court correspondent for the @washingtonpost.com (and one of this town’s all-around good guys).

Just the most wonderful dinner last night at the Inn at Little Washington — celebrating not just another trip around the sun, but 30 years of being an item with this glamorous lady.

Happy birthday to... Louis Brandeis! The great Supreme Court justice was born on this day in 1856 in Louisville, Kentucky (ahem, @epps.bsky.social).

This note from the waitress on our date night rather made my day (it’s not my birthday yet, but it is Birthday Week™️…).

Today is the 50th anniversary of the oral argument in Buckley v. Valeo. The lead plaintiff, James Buckley, had an interesting life — serving first as a senator and then a D.C. Circuit judge (and living to the ripe old age of 100). Obit here:
