O #KatFS é meu projeto de jogo indie, um game hack and slash com foco em magia de fogo e uma diabinha simpática como protagonista! 😈

In #KatFS, Kalia will sometimes have to collect special items to activate certain devices, such as power crystals. I've been revamping the way "key-lock" interactions work, so that they behave nicely with the save system changes. Plus, you can see them being carried now! 😈

I've been finding that a great approach to level design is to lean into the sorts of whims most players have.

If you place a pile of destructible crates somewhere along the way, players will try to destroy it. So why not hide some goodies in the middle of the pile and pleasantly surprise them? 😈

You're actually correct! This is a new animation for carrying "key" objects like these power crystals. I've been revamping how keys work in the game, should be showcasing them more later this week :]

In #KatFS, you'll sometimes find objects locked behind magical sigils, requiring you disable them first, sometimes by finding the correct device, or sometimes by just defeating all enemies guarding it, as showcased in this clip! 🔥

For fun, I tried modelling an Elskold version of LittleBigPlanet's Craftworld!!!

This was certainly an interesting challenge, *obviously* the most essential part of making an exoplanet — you must know what LBP would be like there. Obviously.

It wouldn't add much work, since it could reuse environments and assets from the main campaign. But at the same time, it would be the perfect channel for future content addons after the 1.0 release, when the story campaign is done. These challenge rooms could feature new enemy types and mechanics! ⭐

Not only would it add replayability to the game, but it would also be a way for the game to make full use of its suite of NPCs and player abilities in a condensed experience separate from the highly curated and narrative-driven story campaign. 🔥🔥🔥

While the #KatFS main story campaign is the focus of the game, I've been planning to also have a "roguelike" type of mode, where the player fights in a series of tougher combat challenges, with local score-keeping and potential special feature unlocks. 😈

Did an Elskold satellite mockup (doesn't completely account for local climates) and put it side-by-side with Earth for comparison's sakes!

While quite similar, Elskold *does* have its own unique quirks and differences hehe
