Once upon a time, the glut of Reform scandals would have sunk them. But we live in a post-truth, Trumpian era, where lies, corruption, fraud and incompetence are just water off a duck's back. Deny and deflect - their supporters don't care.

Exactly - 18 year-old Jewish girls accompanied the Kindertransport children as chaperones. When they arrived in London, the girls were sent straight back to Germany, many dying in the gas chambers.

The defunding of research, vaccines and other treatments is bad enough. But trying to sell a policy based on ignorant "belief" and conspiracy theories is just insane. Thousands of Americans will die because of it - all unnecessary in the richest country in the world.
