I prefer the framing that this is a rogue and increasingly constitutionally illegitimate administration. We should be shouting from the rooftops that the Constitution is being violated - it is still seen as holy writ by the electorate and it is still in force even when it is being broken.

Even if she's telling the truth, does it matter? He seems to have documented status, and any (doubtful) rap sheet he has, or crime he committed that put him in touch with Everett PD would be for them and the Massachusetts court system. I don't think any of what she said justifies DHS detaining him.

Maybe the better criticism is that the bipartisan group that did ECRA should have done Insurrection Act reform as well, and perhaps prioritized it above ECRA.

Was the Insurrection Act high on the list of priorities if Sinema and Manchin had allowed them to break the filibuster (it's very hard for me to hold "Democrats" responsible for the actions of two people who functionally weren't Democrats, whatever their affiliation)? I thought it was Voting Rights.

If it's a false flag, then they're trying to get people to endanger their own helicopters?

Won't be enough. He'll demand they rename it after him.

I can guess the answer, but were any of those three perp walked? I don't remember seeing that...

Wow, they managed to write that whole commentary without the word "tariff" appearing once. That's like giving a weather report for Pompeii that goes: "gee, it sure seems like it's foggy today, but maybe it's just Democrats lying about whether they can breathe..."

Kind of literally... Hegseth fat-shamed them at one point.

What little I know about US military officers tells me they thought this was the most pathetic thing they'd ever been forced to see. You basically need a doctorate to be a NATO General or Admiral, and this guy sounds like a 15-year-old boy.

What's up with South Carolina? It looks worse for him than Oregon does...

I feel like the question is what you're trying to achieve - if this were a parliamentary system and you needed to make the party and its platform popular, then this is very relevant, but US parties don't have platforms. We need to stop Trump personally, so I feel like his approval is more important.

Feels like Pulte to me. Comes out of nowhere, showboats, becomes a liability, maybe engages in Mortal Kombat with a cabinet member.

I may have the wrong movie, but...

I wonder if this a little like Epstein, in that (a) they have abandoned a prior position they made not just popular, but rabid online and (b) there is no way to get to positive PR here. Carr is comparing himself to Jack Torrance on Twitter - lavishing in being evil isn't appealing to people.

Since it just came out, assuming the text log in the indictment is reliable, the carved messages were "a big meme" meant to troll Fox and the motive was a personal dislike for Kirk's "hatred". That's backed up by the leaked Discord... he doesn't seem political www.kenklippenstein.com/p/exclusive-...

Accused shooter’s “politics” is not what government and media say

More or less agreed, though I think it may suggest online ideologies or subcultures that are too obscure for us to have heard of.

Right now, though, this is not about belief, it's about stakes. Life, liberty, and property are being publicly threatened with the justification that the shooter was motivated by anti-fascism. That makes disproving that motive seem like a matter of life and death.

I mean, you can subscribe to the Downballot and G. Elliot Morris and get the whole story without ever once needing to hear the word "Polymarket"...
