Honestly, this clip bugs me. It's like when he informed us that President Lincoln was a Republican and "very few people know that." Actually, we all knew that, just like we all know that Reagan was famously against tariffs and an ardent free trader. Trump knows nothing about his own political party.

The ad is accurate, and the lawsuit has no foundation. Ontario was well within its rights to use the clip, as the speech is in the public domain.

He knows very little about U.S. history or any of our leaders. I'd be shocked if Trump had ever watched Reagan's speech. Trump is not intellectually curious and pays attention to what affects him directly, but little else. He's unaware of many things that the average American knows.

Agree with you. When people say he only lost because of the establishment, they're missing the fact that he had relatively little support among Black voters. Bernie spoke to class and economic concerns but didn't address the challenges that people face due to prejudice and baked-in inequalities.

This is really true. The one benefit is that the negotiated rate for a procedure is generally quite a bit lower, even if you're paying all of it yourself. At least that's been my experience. The insurance itself covers almost nothing.

Yes! Reagan wasn't my favorite president, but he had actual ideas he wanted to communicate and understood the value of a good speechwriter. He wasn't crude, didn't insult women's looks or use childish, insulting nicknames. He didn't threaten to jail his opponents or talk constantly about himself.

I have many critiques of the Reagan presidency, but it's undeniably true that he was a tariff skeptic and ardent free trader. Any American who was living and paying attention in those years knows it. Trump is simply not a Reagan Republican. That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Here's Reagan's full address on tariffs. Not that it needs saying, but Trump is 100% lying: the address talks about how Reagan hated tariffs, wanted to avoid them, and used them surgically to solve a particular trade dispute.
