Side-effect of being unable to eat on the right side since June is weight gain. All my usual healthy snacks are crunchy or chewy. Pappy, seedless, soft things are low risk from a pain perspective. Diabolical for my hips!
Finally have my referral through and first hospital assessment next week 🤞

Slow and steady wins the race. Also a high five to you! I did my gym induction yesterday. I’m on ‘weight of the machine only’ level, but that’s better than no weight at all.

I had a torch under mine so I could secretly read under the covers, most of the night sometimes (I often had sore joints). My poor eyes, no wonder I was at minus 5.75 by 13 🙃

See: walking round on up to three broken midfoot bones for 4 months (they weren’t sure when I finally got a scan as it had pretty much healed). I have arthritis in it now.

Halloween reminds me of my friend. In 1986 he launched a ‘tactical assault’ on a ‘haunted’ church, illegally wearing his TA gear. He fell sideways into a ditch and broke his right arm and ankle. They had to cut his uniform off. This is the church (not the story). www.essexlive.news/news/essex-n...

A past line manager once told me in an appraisal that I’m like working with ‘a middle aged Tigger.’
Sometimes, my enthusiasm to sort things out and make things better can be misconstrued as criticism. It’s really not. I’ve just spotted something and it’s yelling at me.

Oh, I’ll google that - I didn’t know he had hearing loss. Yup, definitely some odd attitudes around and lack of knowledge that hearing loss doesn’t necessarily mean ‘everything is quieter.’ Plus, misconceptions that aids make hearing ‘normal.’

Definitely, phew re: aids! Attitudes towards my hearing loss have been ‘interesting.’ When I first got aids, someone said, ‘oh, I didn’t think you really couldn’t hear.’ I was flabbergasted.

Accidentally went to aqua class with my hearing aids in but thankfully, realised very quickly. I dashed out and back. A lady said, ‘not like you to be late!’ I explained. Her response, ‘well you understand what I’m saying fine, so you probably don’t need them.’

A disabled older lady gave me a motivational talk in aqua-aerobics today. I have booked a gym induction with her favourite PT. I already do 3 classes a week but it’s not enough to support my loose joints. It’s very hard work staying even slightly physically stable. #hEDS

My husband’s cousin is my cousin and she calls me her sister in law because she feels that’s closer. I had lots of aunties growing up who were basically older female neighbours.
