yes and ur not wrong, the thing is that usually those temperaments were key-dependent, so a key change would sound kind of "off" if not done right, the same happens to Just Intonation

We are so used to Equal Temperament that we cant perceive the dissonances in it, that's why other tuning systems seem "out of tune for us", but we are the ones that are listening to mathematically dissonant music, unconsciously.

thats how our modern tuning system was born, if Johann Sebastian didnt care about tuning maybe we would be listening to music in Just Intonation or Meantone temperament at 432hz instead of the regular Equal Temperament at 440hz
