Thanks to years of leaking chemicals from coal mines, the water in certain areas of the Blackwater River in WV take on a turquoise color and the rocks are stained orange.

The Blackhawk is one of the louder “birds” that flies low over the Potomac River. Since the plane/helicopter crash in DC, the Army has changed their flight training path to add more noise to the already busy skies around Dulles Airport and piedmont section of the river.
