Well, in other words, the party of tax breaks for the wealthy, skyrocketing our national debt, removing benefits from the rest of us, rolling back environmental protections, and blatantly lying. 🤷‍♂️

Except my supervisor was a WELSHMAN; which he made very clear such as not to be called British. 😄

So you moved out of Phoenix then?

I worked at a company that used to be called AiResearch, doing internal design work on executive business jet turbofan engines. It was kind of odd, with Phoenix being kind of a cowboy town and I worked with some British guys who'd come in from Rolls Royce.

I'm glad to hear this. My first job out of school was in Phoenix and I started out in an apartment on East Thomas near the Phoenix/Scottsdale border. It was a great job until the company got bought out, but in those days Phoenix seemed Right Wing as hell. 🤷‍♂️

And the real Columbus story isn't NEARLY as clean and pretty as they taught us in school.

He graduated in May 2024 from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, and STILL wouldn't be able to get a job that high level without Daddy's help. 🤷‍♂️

ICE snatching up ANYBODY without just cause is illegal and goes against the 4th amendment. 🤷‍♂️
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Okay, but she doesn't look brown. 🤷‍♂️

It looks like this is the 'Sticking Point':

"The Immigration and Nationality Act states that in order to arrest someone without a warrant, officers must have cause, or reasonable suspicion, to believe that a person is in the U.S. illegally and likely to escape before a warrant can be obtained."

Well it's certainly not My Kinda Town anymore. 🙄

The traffic kinda sucks, but otherwise I LIKE it here!
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Look, I'm a facts & data guy, the point was people who protest but don't vote aren't really accomplishing anything constructive, and personally, I think it's you who's being judgemental and hostile. 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, off you go now.
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Ah, but still people have time to march and protest; What a GREAT excuse for 36.1 percent of our voting public not bothering to vote.

Anyway, here in WA State I drop my ballot off at the post office on the way to do some grocery shopping, & then back home I track it online until it's counted. 🤷‍♂️
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
I hope they all voted. 🤷‍♂️
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
And, now let's talk about how he originated "Trickle Down Theory" that skyrockets our national debt with tax breaks to the wealthy; Which has remained a Republican baseline ever since. 🙄
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
And again with "the media" bit. Most of us have this gray matter between our ears that we can use to evaluate the value of various informational sources. (Hint: Faux News is NOT a good source.) This REALLY isn't that complicated, & I'm DONE with your conspiracy theories. 🙄

PEOPLE NEED TO VOTE!!!
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Well, I grew up in a Republican household, HATED the dinner time conversations, & never voted AT ALL until Bill Clinton's message of "Change" got my attention. Haven't missed one since

And Monica Lewinsky aside, he's still the ONLY president in recent history to have actually balanced our budget.
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
And when does personal responsibility come into play here? "SOME apathetic & SOME disenfranchised non-voters?"

Again, MORE eligible voters didn't vote AT ALL in 2016 and 2024 then those who voted for either candidate.

Please explain the logic of failing to vote, and then protesting the results?
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Strangely, I always wonder when I see photos of protests like this, how many actually voted. 🤷
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Ah, blame it on the media again, but not the 36.1% of eligible voters who chose to not do so, got it. 🙄
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Well, that's kinda what can happen when more people fail to vote than who voted for either candidate. ☹️
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
GOTTA admire REAL Freedom Fighters like this; the guy's got GUTS!!! 💙
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Hey google, have all ICE arrests been legal? Looks like you're correct here.
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
Well again, he won in 2016, lost in 2020, and won again in 2024.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here. I voted for both Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, but I don't think our country has...let's use the word "matured"...enough yet for a woman president.
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
I don't think that was it. There was a poor turnout in 2016. a good one in 2020, and a bad one again in 2024. I'd say it was sexism.
joshuaseattle1.bsky.social
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. In our last presidential election 36.2% of elidgible voters didn't, which is more than the 31.6% who voted for Trump and the 30.7% who voted for Harris. 😐
