From my POV, this explains the platform migrations we're seeing. People don't just want civility - they want control over their information diet. The power to choose is ultimately more valuable than algorithmic convenience, and platforms ignoring this are losing their most engaged users. 6/6

I think you’re confused about what’s going on. They’re not banning the DeepSeek model itself. They’re banning use of the service run by DeepSeek that stores all data in China under Chinese law.

Hot take: news summaries are fine and don’t need to be completely disabled.
Yes- they are inaccurate occasionally but the point of notification summaries is not to accurately inform but to save time. When it messes up I just then read the originals, but on net I’m still saving time.
