If a system relies on heroic effort to function

it’s already broken.

Good systems make the right things easier

not heavier.

Before neoliberalism, wages tracked with productivity.

Before neoliberalism, unions could negotiate.

Before neoliberalism, financial markets couldn't be run like casinos.

Before neoliberalism, not everything was a for-profit business.

Economics as we know it is a lie.

Not because economists are liars

But because the SYSTEM pretends that a whole bunch of things are true... and those things are lies.

I know what some of y'all are thinking... time to eat the rich.

I get it, I do.

But there's something else here you HAVE to understand...

Love this take. 🤍🍏 It's about A.I., but not really.

"We live in an era where just adding new features won’t cut it... our devices need to become easier to use, better organized, and more discoverable... what we need is A Computer for the Rest of Us again."

The road to the next insanely great Mac is paved with AI
Apple Intelligence might actually be the latest attempt by Apple to fulfill the dream behind the original Mac.

Are you super clear about what economics actually IS?

I wasn't, so I made this episode!

Hope it helps clarify a few things for you, as well...

You don’t need a 10-year plan.

You need a 10-year DIRECTION.

Plans crack under pressure.

Direction adapts.

If you know where you’re headed, you can steer through chaos without losing the plot.

Do you understand neoliberalism?

It's not what it sounds like...

Stop asking “How do I do more?”

Start asking “What creates the most movement?”

One question builds a to-do list.

The other builds a future you want.

We all know what economics is, right? All that stuff about money??

Nope.

Economics is actually how we collectively manage our society.

Money is just the scorecard.

And right now, our version of "economics" is a lie.

When something keeps breaking, don’t fix it for the tenth time. That only treats the symptom.

Surface it.
Name it.
Honor it as a PATTERN.

Once a pattern has a name, the system can redesign around that truth.

Invisible problems live forever.

Visible problems start dying immediately.

If everything is urgent, nothing is.

Name the ONE outcome that actually matters today

and let everything else happen… if it does.

Hear ye hear ye, Episode 20 of Hello Tomorrow is available now!

Everyone thinks economics is about money.

It's not.

It's an operating system for life.

And the version we're running?

It's a lie.

Debt strip-mines the future to make the present work.

Once you see this pattern, you'll start to see it everywhere.

In finance.
In real estate.
In technology.
In your pocket (ahem, credit cards).

It's everywhere, all around us, all at once.

The future rarely ambushes people with good rituals.

Try a weekly 15-minute team check-in: “What shifted this week, and what does it mean?”

Not the news.
Not the drama.
Meaning.

Most people react.
Leaders interpret.

And they’re hardcore about their rituals.

I loved being in conversation with the amazing Susan Drumm!

We cover a lot of topics in this one, but my favorite point is a simple one:

Burnout is a workplace design flaw.

It's not about you, it's about the system you're in.

I hope you enjoy this convo!

Why the Future of Work Isn’t About Burnout Recovery—It’s About Energy Design - Susan Drumm
The best leaders don’t just avoid burnout; they intentionally design how energy flows through their teams. Here’s how to lead with aliveness, not exhaustion.

Ever wondered why the rich get richer and you just... don't?

HINT: It's not your work ethic.

It's because of a divide that's built deeply into the system:

Labor vs. Capital

And chances are, you're a lot more "labor" than you are "capital."

I thought I knew a lot about debt.

I’ve got student loans, I’ve bought and sold houses, built companies with lines of credit, raised money, filed bankruptcy… I really thought I had a pretty solid understanding of what debt is.

I was wrong.

Here's what I was missing.

A fast diagnostic for any system:

Where does energy go to die?

Find and fix that leak, and the whole system will breathe again.

I had no idea the situation in Minneapolis was like this. Recommend you check out this story.

#WeThePeople are not putting up with this.

Great work here all around.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Most teams don’t have communication issues.

They have CONTEXT blackouts.

People talk past each other bc they’re operating from different futures

Before you talk MORE, reset the frame:

“What game are we playing — and how will we know if we’re winning?”

Add context. Watch the noise fade.

You remember George Bailey, right?

In the classic holiday film It's A Wonderful Life, from 80 YEARS AGO (seriously!), George fights a battle against Capital that could be happening TODAY.

Debt wasn't always the what it is now, my friends...
