I asked the first question once during a committee meeting, and it worked exactly as stated here. It’s solid advice 100%.
Trying something new with library committees. Before agreeing to join, I am asking truly toxic questions like:

What is the purpose of this group? What are our intended outcomes? Who do we report to?

Without fail, there is never a response and I get to continue doing things like... my job.

The semester is finally over. This one was the most challenging so far. Amid new admin responsibilities and draconian campus politics, the little time I had for reading helped me remember that there is still beauty and critical thinking out there. These were the onesI enjoyed the most. Cheers!
